Apple TV has ordered a new mini-series from J.J. Abrams, which will reunite him with Jennifer Garner.
According to a report from Variety, the limited series is based on the memoir by Amy Silverstein “My Glory Was I Had Such Friends.” The book tells the story of Silverstein’s friends, a group of women who supported her as she underwent a life-saving second heart transplant. Garner will play Silverstein.
It has been 17 years since Garner shot to fame playing spy Sydney Bristow in “Alias,” winning a Golden Globe and scoring four Emmy nominations. Abrams, who has become one of Hollywood’s most celebrated filmmakers, will executive produce along with Ben Stephenson and Silverstein under the Bad Robot banner. Karen Croner will serve as writer and executive producer.
A premiere date has not been announced.
