Angus Scrimm, who played the memorable SD-6 interrogator McCullough on Alias, has passed away at the age of 89. Although Alias fans remember him for his grilling of Jennifer Garner’s Sydney Bristow, Scrimm had a lengthy acting career, and is perhaps best known as “The Tall Man” from the Phantasm horror film series.
Actor Doug Jones (Hellboy, Fantastic Four), who made two films with Scrimm, reacted to his passing on his Facebook page. “Anyone who ever met Mr. Scrimm knew him as the kindest most gentle soul…When lunching or dinnering with him socially, you would find me
with my chin in my hands just soaking up his stories and wisdom about
life. Always an artist. Always a gentleman. Always Angus Scrimm. He will
be missed.”
